Barn in Limousin, France:

Our gite is in a converted barn approximately 500metres above sea level with beautiful views stretching over the rolling Dordogne countryside. It is at the end of a lane with almost no traffic, very peaceful with chestnut woods to one side and the rear of the property.

It is an ideal situation for walkers, nature lovers, cyclists, artists and families alike. We are about 40 minutes drive from Limoges with it's two golf courses, plenty of shops and it's famous porcelain manufacturers and 15 mins from St Yrieix, famous for it's madeleines. About 10 mins away is the historic village of Chalus where Richard the Lionheart met his death.

All around is countryside and peace and tranquility. Whilst within 2 hours is the famous river of the Dordogne. There are local shops within 5 minutes drive for everyday essentials and a bread van calls three times a week for those that really don't want to leave here. There is plenty of grass for children to roam and play on or adults to just laze on.
